Every year when we take out the box of ornaments to decorate the tree we take out a box of memories. The ornaments all tell a story. They tell the story of each of us as individuals and collectively as a family. Some of the ornament’s stories are self evident, some require explanation. I am realizing there are ornaments that should be here that aren’t – commemorating special events. To rectify this I see a trip to Bronners in my future. For those who don’t know Bronners is a store that sells Christmas items all year long- particularly specialty ornaments. There are also lots or ornaments I just didn’t get pictures of- clearly there will be another post next year. Until then- enjoy the story of our tree.
A gift from a student
Evidence of Abbi and Caelun.
Clint’s grandmother made this for him. Caelun likes to put match box cars in it. I want to make them for the rest of the family and put candy in them.
The schools are represented.
The tattered Santa I made in first grade out of a dried milk weed pod. The ornaments on the right are from my grandparents.
This was made for me by a friend and also has the wonderful quality of being not breakable which is valuable with a 3 year old.
The bear was also made for me by a friend- I used to be a dancer. The one on the right was made by Abbi when she was little.
Our kitties are on the tree- which is better than in the tree I have to say. The tree is one Clint had before we got married.
