Nothing says summer like wet soppy kids. My friend Debbie came over with her boys Blake and Billy and Billy brought a friend for a swimming play date and oh did they have a splashing good time.
Caelun headed for the kick board.

The big kids are getting each other with squirt guns

We follow Independence Day just 2 days later, July 6, with our own holiday in our household - Clint’s birthday. This year our dear friend Dawn came over with her 2 lovely nieces who were visiting from Kansas and my parents rounded out the merry band. My dad brought sub sandwiches from SUBWAY so no one had to cook. I added a pasta salad, a watermelon, and a bought to decadent cakes. It was birthday summer picnic style. With no real need to spend much time cooking we had lots of time to hang out in the pool which made all the kids happy. Happy birthday to my dear hubby.
Dawn and Clint get in the pool
Both of Dawn’s nieces Amber, and Leeann jumped right in.
Caelun hopped in next with Granpa hanging out on the outside.
Enough swimming- bring on the cake!
We sit down and enjoy our picnic.
The birthday boy.
Grandpa also brought cup cakes.
Yeah for cup cakes!
Caelun thought it would be funny to get one of my bathing suits off the chair where it had been drying and try to put it on.
Wistle whistle! Isn’t he cute?
Wait – how does this work again??
No not on my head??
Happy birthday to my dear hubby. Hope you had as much fun as we all did.
My kids can hardly wait to get in the pool. Yes I know it is April in Michigan but the sun is out and my hubby has the pool all clean and chlorinated. I guess he has a bit of spring fever as well. The water is 52 degrees- dip any one? I got a solar heater for the pool for my birthday present and Clint has it installed. You can see it hanging on the fence in the background. Hopefully this lets us get in to the pool earlier and stay in it longer in the season. The kids, even at 52 degrees had fun splashing each other and playing with the pool toys in up to their elbows. You are welcome to join them and take a dip but don’t say I didn’t warn you it is cold.
