Caelun and I went to see the live nativity and the annual tree lighting in downtown Cedar Springs. In our town we have the live nativity put on by the local Methodist Church and then the tree lighting is done by Santa who arrives in all his glory in a fire truck with lots of lights- looking suspiciously like the fire chief but maybe that is just me it was dark -to light the town tree. We got there just as the Christmas story was beginning to be told and at that hushed and sentimental moment my 3 year old shouts at the top of his lungs “ HORSES!! GOATS!!! MOMMY HORSES AND GOATS!!!” Yes that would be my kid. There were lots of giggles- fortunately my fellow town folks understand 3 year olds. We visited with the wise men, pated all the animals, and stuck around for several renditions of Santa Clause Is Coming to Town but Santa was running late and we started to get “code- mommy I code” so Calun informed me. We head back to our van and turned on the heat where a short while later we watched Santa arrive, greet the baby Jesus, and light the tree to begin the holiday season for our little burg. Yeah for angels with good tidings of Santa in a fire truck.
At least the angle had a ladder.
Yeah for the HORSES AND GOATS!
We visited with Mary and Joseph.
We took a brief stroll to enjoy the town lights.
Then we got “code” so we watched Santa arrive form the warmth of our van across the street.
Yeah for the town tree.
