Clint’s Birthday July 6th

On July 6th 2011 my wonderful husband completed one of those circles around the sun that ends in a zero. Forty- he turned 40. We haven't been very good the last few years about making a production out of the grown ups birthdays, maybe because we put so much effort into the kids parties. All that said my dad didn’t want to miss an opportunity for cake and a July birthday just begs for ice cream cake. Caelun seemed to agree. We we were all wet and soggy from the pool but ice cream cake seemed like a good reason to dry off when Grandpa Bob called and said he had one if I had the candles. I had candles. For my amazing husband I want you to know I hope I am lucky enough to get to watch you blow out the candles on at least forty more cakes, that is my wish for your birthday.

Caelun and Grandpa Bob bring in the cake.

Caelun is very excited for cake.

Caelun wasn’t to sure about the whole blowing out the candle thing but it was worth it for ice cream cake.

Abbi Turns 15

June 10th, 2011 the amazing young lady we refer to as our daughter turned a decade and a half old- crazy talk I know. We celebrated with cake, pizza, munchies, swimming, and a bon fire. It was a beautiful warm day to have a yard full of friends.

Cake, cup cakes, and chocolate

Grandma Mary starts the line going to fill up plates.

Abbi’s favorite fruit dip that she says is so good it should kill you.

Opening cards and presents

We were so excited to have Uncle Jake and Aunt Trish here all the way from North Dakota.

Getting ready to light the candles.

‘ooooo cake!’

Trying to light the candles…

…and trying…

…and still trying…

This is the ‘photo op’ of blowing out the candles we couldn’t get lit.

Time for cake.

Oh did Abbi and Hayden have fun with cake.

Caelun says ‘how come you don’t let me smear cake on other people?’

Megan, Breton, Levi, and Bryar all dig into their cake.

Off for a dunk in the pool- I am not sure who is dunking whom.

Pool dunking is a good way to wash off frosting – right?

All clean now.

There is so much fun in store it’s true it’s true Caelun’s 4!

On April 28th, 2011 the wild ball of energy we refer to as our son turned 4 and oh what we had celebrating.

Yeah for hotdogs and cupcakes that Grandpa Bob brought because one can never have too much cake.

Time for some presents! Hooray for balloons!

And fire trucks!!!

His friend Blake joins in.

And now for CAKE! With dinosaurs even!

Grandma Mary and our wonderful neighbor our adopted Grandma Linda give him a boost.

The candle was blown out but I can’t promise there wasn’t some spit involved- chuckle.

Time for more cake.

All done with cake??

Wait there are more presents you said? Well why didn’t you say so?
