My family humors me with a tramp through the woods for our Christmas tree. There is a tree farm a few miles from our house so we load up the kids, tramp through the snow, cut down a tree, drag it back, and strap it to the roof of our mini-van. Yes I know I am a tree killer. I swear I recycle it into mulch and the key word here is FARM. These trees are grown specifically for this purpose – just like carrots or green beans so all is well. Actually Clint said to me as we were hiking through the woods to find the perfect tree for $25 “Why haven’t we planted trees for this purpose at the farm?” I don’t know good question. I guess we have something else to look for when the gardening catalogues start to come in. At any rate my family humored me. Abbi’s boyfriend Hayden came along as well and she even let the momarazzi get her picture. The snow was deeper than we expected and a “short cut” on the way back ended up not being so short as we hauled a “code” Caleun and a tree through knee deep snow but we bagged our tree. The trees at dusk with the snow all around were amazing and I am glad my family humors me with the tramp through the woods for a Christmas tree. “Tree Killer”- I accept that assignation.
Clint, Abbi, and Hayden head out in the direction of the trees.
The snow is quite deep for Cae Cae
Aren’t they cute?
A view from the woods back toward the road.
Caelun liked the snow for a while but he was ready to be done pretty quickly.
Abbi and Hayden help Cae-Cae in the deep snow.
Clint finds the tree. We actually only used the top 6 feet.
After “murdering” the tree Clint hikes it back to the van.
Isn’t the view amazing?
Ready to take it home.
