Dale Chihuly is an artist that works mostly in glass. We have see his work at previous exhibits at Meijer Gardens here in Grand Rapids and also at the Fairchild Gardens in Miami. We tried several times to go see this presentation titled “A New Eden” but as long as we had the ferret on crack- I mean the delightful 3 year old with us we couldn’t get past the water feature at the children’s garden. After several failed attempts we got a baby sitter for Caelun and went on a grown up date. We took our time and strolled. The sun was out and it was a spectacular day. Come have a stroll. Take your time- sip some lemonade while you walk. I have included some of the flowers and permanent sculptures as well. Enjoy.
The orchids are a permanent plant display donated and cared for by a volunteer in memorial to the children of the holocaust.
These are some of the permanent sculptures.
This is a favorite of mine.
Back to a New Eden.
Funny the fish didn’t seem to care about the artwork they were just interested in our food.
Clint said “okay this is me looking contemplative” (wink)
This bee is enjoying the flowers as much as we do but could carless about the sculptures.
A close up of the cut glass.

What beautiful art! I really enjoy his work and you took some awesome pictures. I really wish that I could have that waterfall in my backyard! :)
Thanks :-) As you probably know my dad and my brother Jim were/are photographers. I guess it runs in the family. Fred Meijer Gardens is really a wonderful place.
