October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came -
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.
~George Cooper, "October's Party"
Oh did Caelun and I have a party in the leaves! I bought this crazy old house in part for the two ancient maple trees and the carpet of leaves they drop every fall is straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting. I tell you I can not think of a more grand way to pass an afternoon than rousting about in the leaves with a rambunctious three year old. We raked, jumped, tunneled, and ran. We tossed leaves in the air and laughed until our sides hurt. Come jump with us it is fabulous fun.
Look at the leaves fly through the air.
Caelun has his own rake to help.
Rake them up and…
JUMP!!!
Hope you had as much fun as we did. Now to go pick the leaves out of diapers.
