Clint and I love to travel. We have had to adapt it some to having kids thus our wondrous mini-van. Clint worked at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital right out of college and he has quite an affinity for New England. I have now fallen in love with the region as well. We have also discovered that mid-western folks- particularly those from our neck of the woods – Michigan- don’t seem to travel there much. We appear to be an anomaly. At any rate – school was out and it was time to take a vacation so we packed up the minivan and headed out. Abbi does not share our love for travel and chose not to come on our adventure. First stop- up state New York the Adirondack Mountains and the Botanic Gardens at Cornell University. We didn’t even see a quarter of what was to be seen at Cornell. This may require another visit. Is it too early to start think about college visits for Caelun? (wink) We also love to see the mountains. We both love MI but it is very flat. Mountains are exciting for us – so forgive the pictures for all viewing this that have mountains as common place companions.
Outside our hotel in Up State NY
Caelun loved to watch the trucks go by. EVERY time one would go by he would exclaim “TRUF!” he would then expect a response of “yes it’s a truck or Truck!” in return. He would then respond as the truck drove past us- “Bye Truf” If you didn’t respond to his initial exclamation he would keep shouting it louder “TTTRRUUUFF!!!”
The trees were amazing.
The sculptures Caelun could climb on were pretty cool too.
Peek a boo!
There were lots of beautiful walking paths and overlooks.
The slopes and mountains captivated us even when walking UP them.
As with every college campus they had construction going on and Caelun was sure it was specifically for his entertainment.
The formal gardens were wonderful as well.Caelun loved the fish.
Goofy kid.
Clint’s is on his Droid checking out the GPS feature.
Rover liked the gardens too.
Time to get some ice cream and head out.
