Listed in- The 1000 Places To See In The United States And Canada Before You Die- Burlington, Vermont and specifically “The Church Street Market” is a wonderful place to take a summer stroll. In addition to the regular “Church Street Experience” an art exhibit created as a fundraiser to support a local hunger project – The Cows Come Home To Burlington -was on exhibit as well. It was a warm day and we concluded our stroll with a jump in the fountain. Come stroll with us, have some Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, admire the cows, and splash in the fountain with us. It was a wonderful walk.
Leaving ECHO and hiking up the very STEEP hill to Church Street. Clint and I took turns pushing the stroller- Caelun clearly got the better end of this deal.
The Cows Come Home To Burlington
So many different cows.
A look up Church Street.
There are no cars on Church Street- it is strictly pedestrian. So many wonderful shops and places to eat.
Did I mention Caelun got the better end of the deal? Clint certainly got his exercise that day.
At the end the fountain. I am not sure this is what the architects intended but it worked for us. Rover is in my pocket enjoying the ride.
You can see the church in the background that “Church Street” is named for.
Rover on my shoulder as we wade.
We had back up the street on the other side.
A stop for ice-cream.
We love the old houses as we walk back to our van.
Back to where we started- full of ice-cream, soggy from the fountain and ready for a nap.
