Last year at our family Christmas party my mother in-law, Rita, told us she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop breast cancer in their life time. My mother in-law had “won” that unlucky lottery. There are more stats on breast cancer located here. She under went surgery and chemo and has a full recovery I am happy to report. The folks at her work along with some family organized a team to walk in her honor to raise awareness and money. Team- Rita’s Margaritas- Save Second Base. The day of the walk was very cold and rainy so I have to confess with the 3 year old in tow we wimped out. We did drive over for the after glow/warm up party to show our support. Hurray for Rita and beating cancer!
