Reptile show

So as I mentioned in an earlier post my dear daughter is in to reptiles- particularly snakes and lizards. My husband and I are not. Since these lovely creatures are not allowed to live in our abode the compromise is we periodically go to see them at a reptile show here in Grand Rapids. Fun for the whole family. Yes folks that says $100

That would be my dear daughter's hand

Now that sounds like a yummy snack.

Live mice and rats- also known as lunch and dinner.
They do come in a lot of different, interesting colors.

What is she holding in her hand?

Ah yes that would be a snake- daddy and Cae-Cae look entertained-
what did I say- fun for the whole family.
Okay Abbi- show your friends how brave you are.

School Board Tailgate

The BOE's fearless leader Nort Johnson and his lovely wife host a tailgate party on behalf of the Cedar Springs BOE. We had lovely weather and even better food. Caelun loved every minute of it, especially the marching band- yeah drums!
Fellow BOE member Joe Markini and his daughter share in the fun.
One of our fabulous A Team members Dave Cairy and his son enjoy the goodies.
Jack really liked the cookies.

The exa-saucer AKA a few minutes of controlled toddler time

We also refer to this as "baby jail" all though he enjoys it way to much to be a punishment. It does buy me a few minutes - usually about ten- to have him contained in one place while I do something with out him- like load the car to leave for school, go to the bathroom, or blow dry my hair. When he was tiny it would last long enough for me to take a shower- those days are long gone, but I will take what ever I can get. It is now on the tallest rung so we are almost done. Thanks to Aunt Paula and cousin Andy- this was a great shower present it helps to keep all of us sane.

Garden Club Clean Up

The Cedar Springs Garden Club sponsored a clean up day at Beach Elementary school here in our little burg. We planted lilies and ornamental grass around the recently moved sign. We also spread mulch, and trimmed trees and bushes. We had several families from the community come and pitch in. I think we got things looking quite spiffy.

Chris and Debbie my partners in crime.

The End Of Summer

Just before school started we went to our friends Dan and Amy's cottage. Abby was with her mom for the weekend, so we didn't have her along, but Caelun had a great time swimming and hanging out with Dan and Amy's "big" kids Thomas, Patrick, and Grace. It was a nice end to summer. Caelun starts off in the hot tub
Patrick and Grace think Cae is kind of funny.

Cae gets in the lake with Dan watching.
Thomas keeps and eye out for Caelun.

Amy helps him "jump" in while Grace watches- one...
two...

Three! Yeah into the water!

Do it again Amy!
Patrick and Grace greet Cae in the lake.
Yeah I did it again! Amy you are so cool!

Cool tube Grace!
See mommy I am a big boy!
Grace, I will push you.
Do I have to get out, just because my lips are purple?

September 2008 book- Lucky You

Lucky You by Carl Hiaasen was our book this month. It is an over the top really funny, slightly racy story about two very different people winning the lottery and having to split it. It is a classic good versus evil and you know where the story is going and how it will end but the fun is in getting there. Believe me it is fun. I for got to ask for a star rating we were all laughing to hard. This was recommend by Roger one of our members, and it was quite the hit. I recommend it as long as you aren't easily offended. I will get the stars back to you next month. All in all a funny, enjoyable read.
