I think I mentioned that botanic gardens work for us. The Chicago Botanic Gardens are no exception. Clint and I took a trip here with the Cedar Springs Garden Club when we were first dating so we have a special soft spot for it. It was a great way to end our trip before heading home.
Welcome to the gardens
The paths are great for walking if you are a grown up or running back and forth if you are a kid.
We really liked all the structures in the garden. The Chicago Gardens has more than many.
Water features are always a big hit with all of us.
The pond is beautiful.
Back on the path we go.
Carl Linnaeus the Swedish scientists and botanist looks over us in bronze. He created the nomenclature we use today to identify and describe plants.
The rose garden- this is probably mine and Clint’s favorite part of the Chicago gardens.
I post the pictures of the name tags on top of each rose so if we want to buy them in the future we have a reference.
The fountain in the middle of the rose garden is one of Caelun’s favorite parts.
The arbor running along one side was pretty good too.
Did I mention Clint and I loved the roses.
Did I mention Caelun loved the fountain?
This vine growing on the arbor was really lovely and it is supposed to grow in the shade. I will have to look more into it for our garden.
We left the rose garden and headed toward the Japanese garden.
More water which is always a hit with Caelun.
Those little legs are starting to get tired- time for a ride in the jogging stroller.
Did I mention he loves water?
I am going to break this post into 2 because there are so many pictures. Come on down this path for a further view of the gardens.
