“Though nothing can bring back the hour Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower”
William Wordsworth
I love spring. As a gardener it is the beginning of the growing season. As a teacher it signals the end of the school year. As a parent it means trips to the parks and playing out side with my kids. It is not to hot to snuggle with the hubby and not so cold you need layers of blankets and clothes. Feet free of shoes after a long winter can have toes wiggle in the grass. I have friends in FL and family in HI that are lamenting not having the change of seasons. As gorgeous as those places are I think I understand. Joel, Melissa, Wes, Mandy, and anyone else feeling so inclined- here is a bit of MI spring. Take a stroll, admire the flowers, laugh at the goofy kid. Enjoy.
Tulips
These are blooms on our dwarf peach tree. We are excited to see if we get some peaches this year. This is the first year it has bloomed.
Our quince bush. It makes wonderful aromatic jam.
This is also the first year for blossoms on the plum. Again we are hopeful for fruit.
Daffodils.
These I planted this past fall. Our new fence makes a nice backdrop.
Look at mommy’s helper in the freshly tilled garden.
Gotta love a dirty faced little imp.
Violets
Now that is an unusual flower.
My planter box helper.
