MIFA- the Michigan Interscholastic Forensics Association- held state finals at The UofM Flint this year. This is a new venue for the tournament and I think it went well. Clint took a personal day and he and Caelun joined us. Abbi was visiting her grandma in Detroit so we didn’t have her along. I had students qualify in the categories of Extemporaneous Speaking, Original Oratory, and Impromptu Speaking. My Impt. kid has mono and a secondary infection so she couldn’t come. We had nice weather and the kids both did well. My orator even broke to semi-final round. It was a nice end to a good season.
Caelun had LOTS of space to run- which is great fun for him.
Caelun waves to his audience. He waves and blows kisses. People love it and that just eggs him on. He is such a ham- gee I wonder where that comes from?
Doesn’t he look so professional in his suit with his lap top?
The extemp prep room.
Our hired judge gives a thumbs up as we get ready to head back to the hotel after the first day of competition.
They start the postings for break rounds…
There is our orators name!
And there she is with one of her friends from Dexter H.S.
