My dear daughter has become a flautist. She practiced so much she broke a spring and her flute had to go in for repairs. As long as it was going in we did a complete over hall. She got it back and was so thrilled "No more stinky band flute!" Apparently the flute the school had generously loaned her smelled bad. She said it makes a wonderful sound, and smells okay and she is happy to be playing her own flute once again.

Stinky Band flutes suck! I played the flute and then the piccolo in junior high and high school. I remember well how stinky they can get. All that spit hanging around... Yech!
