Forensics Regionals was held at Holland HS this year. I had 6 kids compete and 4 that qualified to State Finals so It was a good year. For all of the kids who qualified to State it is at least their 2nd year competing and for 3 of the 4 it is their 3rd or 4th year so you can see how hard they have to work and what an achievement it is to qualify. One of the unusual things you see at a forensic tournament are all of the kids practicing their speeches to the walls before they compete. Yep we are “wall talkers” as folks not on the inside will sometimes call us. We accept that assignation. It was a good day and I am proud of all my team those who qualified and those who didn’t. On to State Finals.
Rachel and Jen cheer each other on.
This was particularly funny because Rachel’s oratory is about the importance of perseverance.
Rachel, Talya, and Jen all take a pledge to persevere.
Ah yes… the wall talkers. Erin, Talya, and Rachel all warm up.
Andy is practicing before an extemp round.
Both our orators broke! Yeah! We are code “G”
All of the orators in final round who qualified to State Finals.
Andy making sure Talya doesn’t have any distracting lint.. yeah that’s it.
Caden always gives the thumbs up. What a great teammate. His mom Lori joined us.
Afterwards we went out for Chinese food at an undisclosed location so none of the seniors playing senior assassination would get shot with a nerf gun.
On to States!
