Every year Abbi spends Christmas Eve. with her mom and then we pick her up for Christmas with us. The drive between Traverse City – where her mom is- and Cedar Springs- where we are- is about 2 hours each way in good weather. This year we had weather that was anything but good. We had an ice storm. It took Clint about 3 hours to get her and 3 to get back. Thankfully they arrived safe and sound to see that Santa had already delivered the goods. He actually came while Caelun was sleeping on the couch waiting for them to come home. On Christmas Eve. I make soup in the crock pot so it will be hot when ever people are hungry and want to eat and then have biscuits ready to pop in the oven- one or a dozen so folks can eat them warm. When Clint gets home with Abbi it is late and they are usually hungry and tired. We eat and then open new jammies to wear to bed, waiting until Christmas morning to open our presents.
Caelun woke up from a nap and gosh-look at all those presents. We had to wait to open them but that doesn’t mean cars and trucks couldn’t be driven on them.
Where’s Waldo…I mean Cae-Cae?
There he is!
Santa even filled the stockings while Cae slept.
“Yeah- Daddy and Sissy are home! Time to open our pajamas!”
“OOOO fuzzy!”
“Look I am in the box. Wrap me up.”
Abbi LOVES to have her picture taken-not.
She calls me the “mom-arazzi” because I take so many pictures.
At least she liked the jammies.
Clint’s turn.
A new robe…
and if you put it on backwards…
it is like a snuggie.
My turn.
Pink – of course.
Abbi is ready for bed but this is the best shot we get of the jammies until morning.
“Happy Christmas to all and to all…
a good night.”
