I know there are probably WAY too many pictures of mountains, valleys, rocks, and folks looking off into the distance but I just can’t help myself. Clint and I came here on our honeymoon in August of 2005. Coming back with the kids was really amazing. It is very grounding- no pun intended. There a such a sense of timeless-ness. You know that what ever your joys or problems those mountains just don’t care. They were here before me and they will be here when I am gone. Battles of the Civil War were fought in these very valleys- sons, fathers, brothers, husbands were killed and the mountains never moved. Maybe perspective is the most apt descriptor for what this place gives me. I hope you get a glimmer of the same.
Abbi and Perry the “wonder twins” admire the view.
My fabulous daughter found a cool bug
The rocks are what is on the opposite side of the valley views and even this butterfly seems to be enjoying itself.
Caelun who loves to run up and down any kind of an incline, was in his element- notice mommy is keep one hand on him.
Me and Caelun climbing up a steep section- Abbi is waiting. Perry comes up after us.
Really does it get any better than this?

Though I see views like this every day, I never take them for granted. It's hard to imagine our oldest in the Blue Ridge mountains right now!
