Egg Hunt 2010

It was time again for our annual egg hunt at my dad’s farm. We did 67 eggs per kid this year. Each egg has a number on it – one through how ever many kids are hunting and each kid has a number. They can only pick up the eggs with their number. This way the bigger kids can have their eggs hidden with more challenge and the little ones can be easier. It also means we can fill the eggs according to each kid. I take requests as well. Bryar wanted to be #3 because that is his hockey number and Cole wanted to be #4 because that is how old he is. The big kids who now feel to big to hunt do the hiding. When it is all done we head back to the barn for a picnic. My dad makes most of the amazing spread and our wonderful neighbor Jerry brought his fabulous baked beans and potato salad. Stacey brought some tiny cup cakes that Caelun devoured- I think 15 of them. I was expecting a sick tummy later but he seemed to come out unscathed. On the rare occasions when the weather let’s us we have a bon-fire and roast hot dogs and such. It was to windy for that this year but the sun was out and it was relatively warm. Our dear friend and neighbor Amy brought her 4 wheel drive MULE and gave rides and let others – including the kids drive it around the trails. My dear friend Dawn joins us every year and she took most of the pictures. We got her in the last one when we were riding on the MULE. It was a fabulous day or as my dear daughter Abbi would say- Epic!

Caelun took a lot of corralling. He is still working on the idea of picking up the eggs an putting them in the bag. He mostly wanted to carry them around. He also had a hard time with picking up only his number.

Hey Pam! What a fun Easter your family had! My husband and I are the ones who do the egg hiding. We moved to a small apartment so this year the hunting was carried out in our balcony among my pots and plants. I just took four pics and the hunting was over!
I love this tradition. Love to see how the little ones (and not so little ones) get so excited about the hunting.

You made me laugh about Caelun having no butt! Poor angel struggling with his trousers, but he didn't seem to mind at all!

I really enjoyed your pics Pam.

Have a sunny weekend!
