Honey- come look at what our kid did…

As a parent there come those moments- when it gets really quiet- to quiet. You just know there is something happening somewhere in your house and it isn’t good. We have had a couple of those of late and I just had to share. As crazy and frustrating as they can be they also make you laugh until you cry. Hope you all get a giggle out them, we sure did.

“Look mom- you use this on your lips and face –right? I know I am not wearing make up that I need to take off but I certainly won’t have chapped lips.”

   

“Look how shiny my face is.”

     

“Mommy the lid on that box in your craft room was hard to get off but once I did…”

“…isn’t the ink pretty?”

“…and tasty too!”

“Even after you washed me up I still have pretty hands.”

 

“Mom you have such fun stuff to play with!”

Goofy kids- playing in the pool- come on in the water is fine- if you like 52 degrees.

My kids can hardly wait to get in the pool. Yes I know it is April in Michigan but the sun is out and my hubby has the pool all clean and chlorinated. I guess he has a bit of spring fever as well. The water is 52 degrees- dip any one? I got a solar heater for the pool for my birthday present and Clint has it installed. You can see it hanging on the fence in the background. Hopefully this lets us get in to the pool earlier and stay in it longer in the season. The kids, even at 52 degrees had fun splashing  each other and playing with the pool toys in up to their elbows. You are welcome to join them and take a dip but don’t say I didn’t warn you it is cold.

Yeah hurray for spring! Lots and lots of wonderful things are blooming and the grass is green. Spring came early and seems to be sticking around. The trees are starting to leaf out and this gardener is very happy. My garden helper is very happy as well. There are flowers to smell and then exclaim “achooo” over. It is even more fun to count the flowers and tell mommy all the colors. Sometimes the flowers are so pretty and look so tasty he has to take the heads off and try to eat them. So far none seem to be very tasty once actually eaten so I will trust this is a self limiting behavior.  We are really enjoying being outside and the all the fruit trees are in bloom. As long as it doesn’t frost the blossoms we should be in for quite a crop of fruit. Well I won’t count my cherries, peaches, quince, or plums before they hatch…er … grow but for now the blossoms sure are lovely. Come take a stroll but please don’t eat the flowers- I already have a helper for that job.
