“Blue skies smiling at me… Nothing but blue skies could it be. Blue skies singing a song…Nothing but blue skies all day long.” Thank you Irving Berlin for that cheery ditty. I came across a post on a photography blog about the effect of twilight sky on photos- particularly when hit with a flash. Our lilacs are particularly wonderful this year so I headed out in to the dusk and decided to give it a try. I took some with and with out flash just for reference and then a few days later I took more in mid-afternoon daylight. You be the judge. So you aren’t confused there are 4 different types of lilacs represented- the traditional light purple, white, dark purple, and a variegated one. There are also a few shots of my hubby’s redbud tree. I couldn’t resist all those pink blooms.
These are the same lilacs at the same time of day with out he flash.
Without…
with…
Clint’s redbud tree.
These are all mid afternoon light.
