For every year since 1937 during the first weekend of October our town has thrown a party for … underwear. Yes I said underwear- the red flannel long john variety. Cedar Springs is the Red Flannel Capital and we are proud of our underwear. There are festivities galore, from a tractor pull, to a queen’s pageant, to a grand parade. We personally have friends over and eat chili at our house. I some how didn’t get my camera out until late but I got a couple of shots of Caelun on the antique fire truck. It was a wonderful day three cheers for underwear!

Abbi Earns Freshman Academic Honors
We are very proud of our academic rock star daughter. I am sure she was horrified by the cheering, picture taking step-mom but that is okay I am used to horrifying teenagers in my role as high school teacher – hay we all need skills right? They give the awards for academic achievement the following fall from the year when they were achieved so this was her freshman award. She was on the honor roll all 3 trimesters and has consistently been holding her GPA at or above a 3.5. Again just need to say how proud we are of her and then will stop so she can stop cringing – I promise not to shout- well to much any way, and I really do promise not to jump up and down- no really I promise.
Abbi’s name is called and she goes up to the stage to get her award.
Her friend Brenton’s name is called.
After the ceremony with her boyfriend Hayden.
Yeah Abbi!!!!!!
