Debate Season Is Over

Yeah Caelun is sleeping, Clint is off over load and debate season is over. State finals was this weekend- Thusday through Saturday. We would normally have gotten on a plane on Saturday to head to DC to lobby for changes to NCLB with the NSBA, but with Caelun's ears I couldn't count on being able to put him on a plane, so Joe Markini from our board is going.
We placed 10th in the state which seems to be about where we usually land. I am proud of the kids. They worked hard and most importantly , they learned a lot, about the topic, each other and themselves. They like to coordinate their outfits when they are debating. I took pictures of some of the tricked out tubs kids from all over the state have put together. I am sorry I missed Petoskey's furry tub with a tail, but I got some good ones. Talya, Andy, Jessica, Lauren or Nikki- one of you will have to put a link on cross-x.

Clint and Caelun came to hang out on Friday when Clint finished teaching. Abbi is with her mom this weekend to visit her Aunt Kris, Uncle Bryan, and her nine cousins, who are in from New Hampshire, so we missed having her along. Dr. Tom says Cae has no restrictions as far as swimming and water. He says if it hurts, Cae won't do it. As you can see water doesn't seem to bother him . He was having so much fun in the pool that a lady staying at the hotel asked to take pictures. He also enjoyed scooting around the hotel in his walker and hanging out with all of the people. He is such a social little thing. All in all we are looking forward to catching up on sleep and working on our house as things calm down. I will start forensics season ina few weeks but that is never as crazy, and it doesn't invole as much travel.

Check out the new museum in DC. There is an interactive area where you can debate ocer emancipation like Lincoln and his cabinet members did. Sounds like a field trip to me....lol. http://www.cnn.com/2008/TRAVEL/getaways/02/04/lincoln.summer.home.ap/index.html
