A thankful day

Thanksgiving Day we sleep in and then trek 20 minutes to my folks where my dad makes ALL the food. I do not make a single thing. I have offered, lest you think I am a delinquent and ungrateful daughter. My dad seems to enjoy the cooking and he knows this is probably the craziest time of year for us. As long as this works for him, I am more than happy, and eternally grateful to let him take this holiday on in its entirety. Go dad- you are one of our biggest blessings and not just because you can cook. Playing and hanging out before dinner
Abbi is Caelun's life line -which Grandpa Bob finds funny

Dinner time!

Yumm!
Abbi is our salad eater.

Abbi helps Grandpa with the turkey.
We are thankful for all this wonderful food- yeah Grandpa!

Dinner is over- time to play!

Who do you think will win in the wrestling match?

No more stinky band flute.

My dear daughter has become a flautist. She practiced so much she broke a spring and her flute had to go in for repairs. As long as it was going in we did a complete over hall. She got it back and was so thrilled "No more stinky band flute!" Apparently the flute the school had generously loaned her smelled bad. She said it makes a wonderful sound, and smells okay and she is happy to be playing her own flute once again.

We decided our little boy was starting to get a bit scruffy. I am not one of those mommys who refuses to cut her little boy's hair until it falls in curls all over. At the same time our little urchin has a limited amount of hair so, do you go on length, or over all appearance? We decided it was time. I took pictures, Clint took video and I saved the shorne locks for his baby book. Our dear friend Nedra did the honors. She has been taking care of my hair since college. She has seen me through lots of style changes, the times when my hair didn't grow because I was so sick, the weird hair you get when you are pregnant and then even more weird when you are not. She gave my husband the first hair cut that he actually thought looked good on him and fixed Abby's when a family member gave her a home hair cut she hated. I was so excited to have Nedra be the person to give Cae-Cae his first big boy hair cut. I was amazed at what a difference there is in his appearance. We went in with a baby and left with a toddler. I have to put in a little plug for her - she has recently switched salons. She is at Genesis in Rockford. She is a Certified Master Colorist and travels all over the country, but she also does cuts- as you can see. Come see me fo a coupon or tell her you talked to me and you can get $10 off a color service.
What will my fans think?!
NOOOOO!

Wait did you say a sucker was involved?

A sucker with hair stuck to it?

even better

Yummy! My fans will understand.

Halloween

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. You don't have to worry about a present and it brings neighbors together. Abbi had Halloween with her mom but Clint picked her up after trick or treating and I got a couple of pictures of her in costume before the fake blood wore off. Actually we had family pictures taken that next day and we were worried for a bit it wouldn't come off- but luckily baby oil and rubbing alcohol did the trick. It was a good time for all involved.

Natasha gives Cae-Cae a snack and a snuggle

Natasha carves a pumpkin from our garden She thinks Cae eating pumpkin guts is funny

Yummy!
Grandma Del laughs at the kids
I like raw pumpkin guts!

Okay dad lets check the loot.

Natasha offers courage.
It is better with daddy's help- maybe I am not such a brave little skunk
Look what I have daddy! Skunks like shiney wrapers.

Natasha sticks out her tongue at me as she walks with my dad.

The skunk is tired and ready to go home
